larryllix Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Hi io_guy I just attempted to add a Honeywell stat to Nodelink alomg with my othe nodes - MiLight & 2 x 7800 Venstars. When I add the Honeywell stat node, my first in the list of tabs, Venstar stops reprting to ISY v5.0.10. The Honeywell node has never passed the security login with TCC, depite changing and reverifying credentials with TCC. Verbose throws a lot of code back at me. I have deleted the Honeywell node from Nodelink v0.6.9 and the Venstar starts functioning again. I have done this twice with same results. Tried an ISY reboot with no gain. Trying an ISY reboo, then a Venstr stat power cycle, which is neede every time a router adjustment is made = really bad Ethernet healing. UPDATE2: Power cycling the Venstar made comms work again without rebooting ISY. Strange, when this happens, Internet comms still work fine (weather etc..). I have been noticing, many times when I reboot NodeLink, I get different comm success rates with these two Venstar stats. Sometimes I get massive errors, sometimes about one miss per every few hours, and sometimes no errors at all for a week until it starts again. It can happen with either one, or both simultaneously. I have instaled a second router now to comm with the far Venstar but it hasn't changed the random results. I just reboot NodeLink until the report page shows shows no errors for the first few hours.

From past experiences it almost seems like there is something weird in the Ethernet driver, that doesn't like to share or gets set up not quite right at random. May be RPi 1 cheapie port related? Oh... just relised what mono is. Have to run to KW until Monday and will investigate then. Thanks

Venstar stats stopped reporting to the ISY. Its worth noting now because the rainmachine and ISYData Nodelink servers appeared to keep going. It was the dead of winter, I was traveling and didn't want to experiment with thermostats and something that worked. I un-installed the polyglot Nodeserver, things came back and I never got back to it. If you think it would help, I could recreate and run a log. Paul

My RainMachine module uses essentially the same HTTP code as Venstar/Honeywell so I would think the problem would effect all. Had to run out the door but as I did and IIRC my mono was version 3.8.2. Sent from my SGH-I257M using Tapatalk If you're 3.8.2 on a RPi1 you might want to splurge another $35 and pick up a RPi3. Get a fresh setup with a lot more horsepower.

I have tried various forms of passwords and changing security onthe site with no success. Here is what the verbose option for the Honeywell Stat throws back. io_guy Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 TCC is just a web scrape. I don't have a stat so unless you want to give me a login to yours, I'm no help. The JS warnings are just part of the main code. If you view the source in IE you'll see the same thing.

In the mean time I rebooted my RPi 1 and tried to install the Honeywell stat again...no response from the TCC website again. Then all hell broke loose. NodeLink appeared to hang and then lost ability to connect to ISY. Finally looking at it's Nodelink device page the address in the box was "ISY" and my IP address was gone. Replaced "ISY" with "192.168.0.xxx" and it resumed connections. Next, all my devices disappeared. Many reboots of both and attempts it seemed that the ISY profile was emptied out and I lost 4 devices in the profile1 file in ISY. U[on reboot of NodeLink it reported it found ISY and profile1 but no devices existed. I have just rebuilt four devices and all reconnected fine. Now just finished transferring all ISY names in programs to new device names...ewww...just thought about notification hard addreses...yuk. Anyway, I am returning the Honeywell to HD tomorrow. It has very few settings like On/Off differential and many other higher level settings. It's more for plug and pray people, and no information seems to be available for it. It is also only settable and resolved to 0.5C and may have the same problems as the Venstar. Not for me. On top of that, HD gave me an obviously torn open box, a wire marker sheet with the common labels missing, check marks in the wiring diagram checkboxes, and broken terminals in the connection plate. Going back for a trade up to Ecobee3 with 3 remote deal, while it lasts. More $$$$ and last ditch attempt to find a decent stat. Venstar is short cycling my A/C no matter what I set background settings at. and they just don't seem to care..grrrrr.... I wonder if my RPi1 is dying or overheating in the cabinet. Have the door open and no router in there any more...didn't help and it's not that warm in here. (summer with A/C?) The scariest thing is ISY has done weird stuff to me before, when I installed a Node and ISY was not setup. Whatever outside data storm hits on it, it seems no safety limits are in place and outside devices can cause havoc inside, if wild data is sent. (V5.0.10 alpha, but these things started a long time ago.) Oh geeeezzzz. MY ISY just finished it's complete house shutdown after the last reboot. (Scared the crap out of me) I still have to install some occupancy checking cancellation in there. **SIGH** Maybe next round...LOL

I'm happy to PM you a login to TCC if you're interested in fixing this issue. I have an Ecobee at home, but a TCC in a rental...it'd be nice to set up some rules to keep an eye on it.
