bretta
Everything I've read, searching this forum, says that a controller is automatically a responder. I have scenes in my ISY that have individual components listed as both a responder and a controller. Can't, for the life of me, work out how I set those up. Seems I've lost some brain cells or something. I just installed a new 2334 Keypadlinc 8 button and one button is controlling a 2477SA2 240V load controller. Push the button and the LED comes on. But, if I turn the load controller on via Agave, the button LED does not come one. In the scene, the load controller is a responder and the keypadlinc button is the controller. How do I make the button act as a responder also? This is not the only application I'm having a similar problem with. I'm not sure what I'm missing. I initially set up my system about a year ago and have just now started to massively upgrade it. Whatever I did a year ago is working fine, but not the new stuff. Thanks. Brett Link to comment
stusviews
The button is already a responder, but you haven't defined a controller for the button. You'll need to define the load controller as a scene controller, too. Link to comment

I cannot work out how to define the load controller as a scene controller when it's already a responder. It is in the scene as a responder and if I try to re-add it to the scene, it won't let me. I can find no way to define it as a controller. I know I've done this before, as stated in my original post. Thanks. Link to comment

bretta
Delete it as a responder and add it as a controller. Thanks Gary. That makes all the sense in the world. Unfortunately, it doesn't work. I now show the load controller as both a responder and controller for the switch button, and I show the keypadlinc button as a responder and controller for the load controller, but alas, the LED still does not illuminate unless the button is physically pushed. stusviews
What is the result if you turn on the scene from the Administrative Panel? If the result is as expected, then I'd look as how you're using Agave. You must use any controller (i.e, Agave) to turn on the scene, not the device. If you turn on the device, only the device responds, not any of its links. Link to comment
lilyoyo1
Both devices simply needs to be in the same scene as controllers. Make sure you update both devices on what state the other should be in (both should be on) Link to comment

G W
I've had it happen when I tried to make a change. Sometimes it's better to wipe and start over. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk Link to comment
