Controlling Garage Door from Keypadlinc

Hey All,

 

I know this has been covered before but I just can't seem to get it to work.  I looked at all the posts I could find and am still stuck.

 

Goal:  Open Garage door from Keypadlinc Button B when button is ON.  Close Garage door from Keypadlinc button B when the button goes to off.

 

My setup:

 

Keypadlinc Button B is set to Toggle On/Off

IO Linc  is set as:I/O Linc Mode: Momentary C

Relay set via Sensor Input: Enabled

Send On Cmd: When Closed

LED: On

Beep with Set Btn: Off

 

The door sensor is wired to Ground and N/O as is recommended in the OI Line manual.

 

The Problem:

 

The door closes just fine with the Off command but when the sensor state changes to ON (when the door is completely closed) the door bounces back open again.  

 

Any ideas?

I prefer that the KPL button be illuminated when the garage door is open and unlit when it's closed.

 

Button set to non-Toggle On

I/O Linc set to Momentary A

Relay Follows Input checked

 

My I/O Linc doesn't have a "Send On Cmd" (except for X10) nor LED On or off, only LED on Tx, not even Beep with Set Btn, just Key Beep.

 

Whether the button is lit or unlit depends on the sensor you're using. If it's the sensor that came with the kit, then there's no choice.

 

The magnetic sensor should be connected to S and Gnd, not N/O and Gnd. The garage door opener connects to N/O and Com.

I am sorry, but I am unfamiliar with a couple of these settings.  From where do you access these settings?  Are these paraphrased from the "options" available via admin panel selection of the IOLinc?

 

Why did you enable the "relay set via sensor input"?  What do you believe this option does that benefits you?  (it sounds like a potential cause of your door opening by itself.)

 

It sure seems that things have gotten complicated in your case.  My suggestion is to back up a step and describe WHAT you want to happen?  Do you want the button B to consistently reflect door status (is open=ON or open=OFF)?  Do you want a single button press to trigger the door?  Have you read the wiki article describing the suggested setup for this?
