G W Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 Thank you all for all the feedback. I think we should start with putting a video together. Does anyone know a good videographer/video editor? With kind regards, Michel Adobe has great tools. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
mwester Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 ...OTOH, Perhaps a scripting language that already understands individual box hardware ... Aaaaaaagh! I just KNEW we would end up here -- which is what my response to Teken was all about (NO NEW SCRIPTING LANGUAGES)! We don't need any custom scripting languages for this, but even if we did, re-purposing an existing, known, standard language is a wiser choice, lest we all go further down the path to the coding equivalent of the Tower of Babel. NO NEW SCRIPTING LANGUAGES! NO NO NO! STOP THE MADNESS!!!! (Ok, I'm calm now.)

I think Nodeservers are a general purpose HA facility, with the flexibility to define what's needed based on the products that appear. The tool sets exist: We see a lot of nodeserver action with Polyglot / python and other unix tools. io_guy has more the proven the ability/viability of non linux developed frameworks like .net to integrate nodeservers. Right now, we're living under the graces of some smart and generous devs who have integrated the HA products we have to date As more people convert to V5, there'll be more opportunities to integrate more products and even meet additional devs Sooner or later, some configurable type tools will emerge that will make integrating easy things easier.. but they will never be perfect I don't think we can expect some cure all, silver bullet point and click integration tool.. no fault of our own, the market is still too crazy and volatile... no one's going to be able to anticipate it all. Paul What would be really nice is Polygot as an imagine with everything necessary and ready to run. Then possibly another as a Docker image. This way for anyone who does not want to dive deep into a learning curve and maybe not 100% tech savvy can still be able to easily get up and running on multiple devices as still be platform agnostic. 2
