What are the steps you are taking to exclude the device. Also which specific Z-Wave garage door controller, there are several? Or do you mean the sensor only and not the controller?

Ecolink. I have a quite big z-wave network and included and excluded many devices. But have got problems only with this one. I use standard ISY procedure. Reset of the device doesn't work. Change of the battery doesn't work.

Repeat: there is no standard ISY procedure. The procedure depends on the device!!! The device you mentioned does not have a reset.

"To reset the Ecolink Tilt Sensor. When you see the message "Please follow manufacturer's instructions to remove the Z-Wave device from My SmartThings," do the following: Remove the sensor's cover. Remove the battery for at least 5 seconds."

 

Same reset should work for ISY as well. Why not? But it doesn't work anyway.

"Standard procedure" I mean ISY option include/exclude z-wave device. It usually works ok.

What steps are you taking and in what order? stating that you're following directions is meaningless. Write exactly what you are doing and in which specific order, for example, "first I'm ..., second etc." Or simply number the steps.
