PLM as primary power source

One of my ISY's is a 994i ZW. I removed the Zwave dongle to install it in another 994i.  When connected to a PLM the ISY ZW won't power up without a separate power supply. How do I make the PLM the primary power supply for the ISY ZW with the dongle removed?

I don't believe the 2413S PLM has the required power supply to feed into the ISY Series Controller like the older 2412S PLM.

Are the ISY power supplies the same between the 2 iSYs?  Can you try moving the ISY Powersupply to the other ISY along with with the zwave card? Maybe the one powersupply is weaker not able to power both the ISY and zwave card?

The ISY can take a variety of power supplies. I'm using a 12VDC supply on one ISY. Current rating is important, at least 1 amp.

My error, it does require an external supply. The southern California heat wave caught up with my brain.

LOL As Stu noted the ISY Series Controller accepts a very wide VDC from 5~30 VDC. If you have Z-Wave / ZigBee a 1.5 - 2.0 ampere PSU is highly recommended from personal experience.

The 2413S PLM does not supply power to any model ISY994i or the older ISY99i.

You need an external power supply.

The older 2412S PLM did supply power to an ISY controller. It had a slower processor and memory. Was also Power Line only not Dual Band.

What do you actually do when the power is down, but the ISY is powered? With the ISY, that is (other than Z-Wave battery powered devices, e.g., locks) B)
