One ISY and two Elk panels

I've got an Elk M1 and the ISY in my home with the Elk module installed. They work together flawlessly. I also have an Elk M1 in my rental house next door. That panel is connected to the same network my ISY is on. Is there a way to add the second Elk to communicate with the ISY?

I am in the exact same situation.

I have an elk m1 and isy in my house (love it).

I recently bought the house next door to rent out.

It has a DSC pc1616 i defaulted and have been playing with.

Although usable, i just don't want to learn their system...

I'd rather use the wires and put in an elk m1 in the rental.

I've got plenty of cat 5 running between the two houses,

So add an elk XEP to the new m1 and i'm almost there.

The isy really complements the elk.

So i want isy integration on the rental elk system.

So can i use ONE isy99 with TWO elk panels?

I'll be looking into it....

Maybe we should also ask, can TWO isy's be on the same network?

(dns/username/password/email overlap???)

Seeing the OP didn’t get a response before. I think the short answer is only 1 panel per ISY...

Have you guys considered using additional elk Areas? I’m not exactly sure how this would play out with your situations, but conceptually if you had a good databus run to the other house you would scrap the second panel and use input expanders, power supply (P212 S probably), edit:siren and siren driver etc at the second location. The ISY can see multiple areas from a single panel.

I *think* you can program how the second area responds in your main house. Maybe you want to be alerted to fire but not burglary for example (or have different alert levels depending on situation).

I think this and more is possible. I’d dig into this route some more if you think it’s feasible.

Multiple ISYs can be on the same network, and each can be bound to a separate ELK. However, an ISY can only be bound to a single ELK.

Maybe it's time for an Elk Node server.

I like the idea. But as I understand, some might say keep the security system sure-footed and not reliant on an R-Pi or other node server on currently alpha 5.x

I've been considering it. Since Michal stated the Elk Module will not be updated I feel someone is going to have to just to get new features..

I like free markets and open systems. Would love to use 5.x and probably would be fine. But I don’t want to tinker with life safety and security. Need a plug and play box node server - could be an R-Pi or equivalent. Just want it to work without fuss- like the ISY does...
