paulbates Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 io_guy: Being able to update the V5 Nodedefs and reboot the ISY right from the Nodelink device page is a great feature. Having the nodedef update button "disappear" when the nodedefs are current helps as well. Thanks! Paul
Goose66 Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 Very handy. But I certainly hope that the end game is that the ISY and Admin Console will be able to react to changes in the nodedefs gracefully without a reboot required.

I have my doubts we'll see that anytime soon. Assuming the node install works for people I plan to add an option for it to happen automatically in a future release.
xKing Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Michael frowned on reboot to update the certificate via Let's Encrypt (every 3 months) but they seem to be ok with reboots for the NodeDef...
paulbates Posted December 1, 2017 Author Posted December 1, 2017 I've always had to reboot the ISY on nodedef updates to get the newly defined devices working. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Unattended reboots were frowned upon, not reboots in general. Unattended or unexpected reboots would have odd consequences...
xKing Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 They could always make it as a notification - like your certificate has been updated, please reboot at your earliest convenience.
