Looks like they're getting out of the business, but they have the latest motion sensor in stock, wtf? I've gotten some nice prices in the past with this store, hope it ain't true. Anyone interested, talk to them, phone # 810-653-8618.

I talked to my Menard's department manager a few weeks back. They're ramping down in stores / markets that aren't selling. You'll see new versions of products swap in.. they can't get the old MS anymore and are restocking the things that they're keeping with what their shipped.

He suggested I'd see less Insteon over time in Livonia. He agreed that Insteon and Menards didn't do the best job of marketing it in the isle.. Insteon is out there with other instant gratification, "plug and play" products and people assume it's simple. And we know from hanging around these forums that Insteon isn't always plug and play.

It's been a great 3 year experiment and convenient to pick up a switch or motion sensor while shopping, and you're right the prices end up being competitive especially when shipping costs are removed. Hopefully they'll keep the basics like switchlincs and MS's in the isle.

Paul,

I started noticing Insteon in Menards right after I'd replaced every switch in the house thru Smarthome 20% sales, so my needs were pretty much satisfied by then, I did get an outdoor switch and the new dual OutletLinc for $33 each and a 11% rebate, nice. They never did carry PLMs, KPLs or FanLincs tho. Like you said, not exactly plug 'n play stuff.
