New ISY-994i red light flashing

Hi,

I just received my new ISY-994i, and am having trouble with getting it to work. The first thing I did was to connect the PLM and ethernet to the ISY, and then, after waiting for the PLM to boot, power it on. The problem, though, is that the device would boot and then immediately get stuck in the red light flashing error.

I searched everywhere about this error and that this is a memory (SD card error). So i followed the solutions I stumbled upon like reformatting the SD card (tried the zip file and the folders CODE and WEB themselves), factory resetting by holding the button, and even replacing the SD card (I tried 3 different SD cards, 2GB to 4GB). None of the mentioned solutions worked and I always get stuck in the same red light flashing error.

Is this a problem with the unit itself or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance!

Hi bgottsch,

Are you certain that it's the red error light flashing OR red and memory lights simultaneously? https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Main_Page#Front_Panel_LEDs.2FLights

If it's only the red error light and if you have already made sure that the SD Card is seated properly, then please request an RMA from wherever you purchased from. Otherwise, it's network related and most probably because ISY cannot get an IP address from your router. And since you have already formatted the SD Card, once you get it going, you will need to reinstall the firmware

If you need more help, please do not hesitate to submit a ticket.

With kind regards,
Michel

Hi Michel, sorry for the late reply.

Only the red light was flashing, so it must be a mistake with the device itself.

I ended up buying a new one. Since I live in Brazil, it's cheaper to buy a new one then to ship it back to Smarthome and then back again (more import taxes).

Just got my new ISY up and running as expected.

Thanks for the help and great job on the ISY.

Best regards,

Beno
