OOMI multisensor problems

Featured Replies

Recently I purchased an OOMI multisensor... which is the exact same device as the AEOTEC, and manufactured by Fantem Corporation in China. It was $40 on Amazon, so a savings over AEOTEC. However, when I try and include it in my Z Wave network, though everything comes up just as it does for AEOTEC, the multisensor only displays battery info. There are the same boxes as in AEON's Multisensor, temperature, Illumination, Humidity and UV, but they are empty boxes displaying no info. I would have thought this OOMI sensor was using the same software as AOETEC's sensor, but maybe not. Is this an issue with this sensor's operation, or is it not yet supported?

Indidently, buyer beware the Seller on Amazon refused to take it back because it is "used". (It came with no documentation of any sort so I wonder if I was not the first buyer - but the Aeotec info I had worked just as it did in setting up the OOMI model.) I will see what Amazon will do about this, but that is an entirely different issue.

clarification and correction

Could be a few things. What firmware are you running as well as UI? Make sure you exclude and then include the device.

Unfortunately many times cheap knockoffs are just that....cheap. There is a reason why big vendors charge what they charge and knockoff companies are much cheaper.
