DrLumen Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 A developer in Austin is adding HA features in new homes. https://www.512tech.com/technology/lennar-certified-model-smart-home-south-austin/0KpdNGJBqcsJDybrUTzo3L/ Maybe this is not new but I think this is the first time I have heard of HA being installed as part large development (400 homes). I'm well aware of individual homeowners wiring for HA in new construction but nothing about it being installed as a standard.
KSchex Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 Thanks for the post DrLumen. Technology is slowly engulfing our lives. I would love to know the system details. Hope the Cloud does not go down or 400 families will not be able to control their homes.
Teken Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 There were several developers in 2016 ~ 2017 that *Home Automation* was to be integrated into their track homes. A quick glance here and you can see the bulk of the hardware is just over the counter hardware the general public is now using: Ring, Amazon Echo, Phillips Hue, Sonos, Honeywell, Leviton. Its assumed they are using Leviton for lighting and switches and outlets . . . In the big picture this is great for the economy and those making such hardware.
DrLumen Posted March 29, 2018 Author Posted March 29, 2018 I think it will help to get people accustomed to HA. Perhaps make an easier resale of homes with HA or maybe a bit more profitable.
