denis.cabrol@gmail.com
Hello, I am using my work PC to configure my ISY and apparently some new update was pushed and I cannot get the admin console to pop up. - ISY994i is on, and I can control stuff through Mobilink and online (ISY web access) - v 4.6.2 - java re-installed, cache cleared. - using portal, but I am actually home and connected to local network (isy is on it) - find my ISY on universal device web does not yield anything - admin console icon on my desktop does not seem to trigger anything. I apologize for the silly question- I've been trying for 3h now and could not get anything to work. Suggestions? Thanks ! Denis Link to comment
paulbates
Hi Denis Not a problem. Most virus scanning software are very wary of any java app. Take a look at this link and see if it helps Paul Link to comment
denis.cabrol@gmail.com
Thanks. I don't even get there... Step 1 : Bring up the ISY Finder by using the ISY994 icon on your desktop (installed by this link) does not work. I do get the icon, but absolutely nothing happens when I click on it. Usually it re-downloads the applet (after you have cleared the cache) and then starts the blue-background ISY console. Here: NOTHING. Denis Link to comment
paulbates
The change to your system you mentioned could be in the firewall/virus software. That can cause the symptoms you are seeing. You address that with the firewall/virus software by letting it accept the ISY as ok to run. Before trying your step 1, look at the firewall/virus package you have and make the suggested changes, before you try to launch the finder/admin console. Paul Link to comment
denis.cabrol@gmail.com
thanks. Symantec Endpoint Protection now disabled. Still no action when clicking on that Admin console icon or on UDI 'find my isy'... Denis Link to comment
paulbates
If you followed the procedure for Java, that's the other thing i know of I'd submit a request to UDI and add a link to this post so they can see what you tried Paul Link to comment
denis.cabrol@gmail.com
Thanks. I found the root cause... went into Windows admin console and found 20+ instances of the ISY finder... For some reason: - the windows were hidden - there was no tab at the bottom of the screen. Could maximize the window in the Windows admin console and take it from there. Sorry for the firedrill....
