Insteon - ISY Group ON/OFF

I have a large insteon install - 100+ switches.  I have replaced about half the switches with brand new dual-band units and they are all registered and communicating properly.  When I turn the ISY group on or off the old switches respond but not the new ones.  Any advice or recommendations?

Thank you for the quick response!

Sorry I meant the "All On" and "All Off" when you select the highest level device grouping under Network - I named this ISY.

The lights will go on or off on the old switches but the new ones do not change state.  Interestingly the new switches respond fine to the scenes they are in.

I am trying avoid having to create an "ALL" scene because I am likely to run out PLM links.  My assumption is that all switches registered in the PLM will respond to and ALL-ON or ALL-OFF command.

ahhhh. The All On command was removed from many of the newer Insteon devices. This was felt to cure the problem of the phantom "All ON" occurrences that could not be explained.

I use several "all lights" scenes to flash the house upon intrusion etc.. I think one Scene link is all it takes in the PLM. The PLM throws out a scene ID and all devices with that ID do what they are preset to. Scenes do not know who they are controlling. ISY keeps a separate log of scene contents for management purposes and IIRC to make assumptions the devices changed state, since there is no status feedback from Scene commands.

Yes that makes sense because my new switches also do not turn on when I get a phantom "All ON".  It is a feature that works effectively except for those random "All ON" in the middle of the night.  I guess a custom scene is the way to go.  Just to be clear an "all lights" scene involves adding all devices to a new scene called "All Lights" or some other name - correct?

Are you Also suggesting that creating such a scene consumes only one link on the PLM?

Thanks again for the replies.

You can call the scene anything you like. You are just a number in a database anyway. :)

In a scene everybody is given a set of instructions and a scene number. When the boss calls that si gle number everybody does the task they were assigned to the scene number. The PLM only knows that number for that scene.
