Big Tall JV Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 hi, I have an ISY 994i that I purchased a year or more ago to replace a burned out Insteon hub when I discovered they do do backups and you have to start all over when your hub dies. Everything has been great, I have a handful of insteon light switches that I use the ISY for. Last week the batter in my Insteon Motion Sensor 2 died and I can't get it to work again. I hard wired it and it shows up in the config but it's not making the light come on. I have it setup in a program that that between certain hours it will turn on a light switch. The ISY shows the sensor is "on" but the light doesn't run on any more. So in my troubleshooting I have broken something else. I tried a restore to a backup from a month ago and now I have an issue with a scene. I have three outside light that are all tied together in a scene with a time trigger to turn them on and off. That all works but suddenly a hall light is turning on with them. If I turn the scene on and off the hall light goes on and off. I'm not that familiar with the ISY and so I looked at the log from the menu and it wasn't much help. Any suggestions on where to look for the issue are greatly appreciated. If you need more infor I am happy to provide what you need. Thanks, Jason
Michel Kohanim Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 Hello Jason, When you restore a backup, it's best to restore your devices as well: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY-99i/ISY-26_INSTEON:File_Menu#Restore_Devices … Once you have your devices restored - and if the motion sensor is still not working - please try removing it from ISY and then linking it again. Please use Tools | Generate Topology to make sure you know to which scenes it belongs so that you can recreate them. With kind regards, Michel
Big Tall JV Posted November 14, 2018 Author Posted November 14, 2018 Thanks! the device restore seems to have fixed the random hall light issue. I spent another couple nights working on the motion sensor. I did the same thing a bunch of times and it sort of working now. It senses motion and turns on the light but the timeout is not registering. It's going on and off every 30 seconds!!! well maybe it needs to think about it. The official support for this motion sensor comes later? It's an 8244-222 and I see that in the current firmware that one is not in there? Thanks

If that's the case, it is fully supported in version 5 of the ISY firmware which is currently in beta testing. Under version 5 you can change the length of the timeout or turn off the timeout. In version 4, while the motion sensor is supported for detecting motion, you cannot change any of the motion sensor options. I believe that ISY has said that they're not adding any more device support under version 4 which means that if you want to be able to alter the motion sensor options, you'll have to upgrade to version 5 eventually, whether you do that now while it's in beta, or later when it become official.
