Lights turn off but won't turn on

An insteon on/off toggle switch will not react to an "on" signal from ISY, but if I manually turn the switch/lights on,  it will receive and react to an "off" command.  Any suggestions on how to fix this anomaly, or what is causing it?  It does share a 4 gang box with another on/off toggle switch (which functions perfectly).

You have a communication problem between the switch and the PLM. Is your toggle switch a 2 wire or 3 wire switch? What type of load is connected to the switch?

Take a look at this link   https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=INSTEON:_Troubleshooting_Communications_Errors

Thanks for the link to the troubleshooting tips.  Hopefully, that helped me make a fix.  I installed an access point in an outlet about 12 feet from the switch and the breaker box.  I installed a 4827 boosterlinc about 6 feet in the other direction from the switch.  Then I used a lamplinc as a phase bridge to the 2443 access point.  Everything seems to be working when I send on and off signals manually from the admin console.  We'll see if it still works when the program runs.

BTW, per your questions, it is a 3 wire 2466S non-dimming switch feeding a mixed load:  2 incandescent garage outdoor lights and 2 LED spotlights on the same circuit.

Thanks again.  I'll come back if it's still not functioning.

The 4827 boosterlinc will designed to repeat (amplify) X10 signals.  Unfortunately, when it gets confused and corrupts Insteon signals.

If you do not have X10 in your system there is no reason for the 4827 - remove it to preserve your Insteon signalling.

If you do have X10 in your system there are far better amplifiers that do not step on the Insteon communication - again, remove the 4827.

Jeff Volp has a line of X10 repeaters that will not interfere with your insteon signals: Jeff Volp XTB X10 Repeaters

Thanks Mike.  I got rid of my x-10 stuff a few years ago.  I'd forgotten that this booster was intended for x10 and thought it would help in my insteon setup.   Thanks for putting me straight.
