Posted December 6, 20186 yr I found a neat looking LED controller here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075825GZ5 And it works, (mostly), fine using native apps as long as you're not trying to set the color. But to fully use it, (and control all 4 channels independently to mix colors) you have to put it in 4 dimmer mode. Is this a special Z-Wave mode "for dimmers", or just what they call it? The registration process is register the device, change a control parameter to 4-dimmer mode, remove and re-add it to Z-Wave. But when it re adds it just hows the DEVICE_1 dimmer and switch not 4 separate ones. This seems odd- why would the ISY care how many dimmers the controlled unit has? Won't INFO fill a list of XXXX_1-N?
December 9, 20186 yr @mrcookies, Thank you. I suspect this device is multi-channel which requires 5.0.14. With kind regards, Michel
December 10, 20186 yr Author When is 5.0 GA? Is it stable enough, or does it break a lot? Is there a smooth upgrade path from 4.x or is it a complete rebuild of your house?
December 10, 20186 yr @mrcookies, Next year. The rest: 5.0.x is a major rewrite and thus YOU WILL NEED to do a few things to migrate from 4.0x. All the steps are described in the instructions for 5.0.x. With kind regards, Michel
January 3, 20196 yr Author I upgraded to 5, and it seems to work. And now.. I'm really interested in adding my own device templates ? Thanks for all the help.
January 3, 20196 yr Author Node Server definition artifacts- (editor, nls and nodedef files). "Device Templates" is what I call them over in my AWS IoT app. ☁️
