Moving and selling home with zwave/insteon

Hi all,

Moving out of our house that has the ISY.  Plan is to take the ISY with us to the new house but not all the wired switches and door locks.  95% of the items are zwave.  There are about 12 battery operated door/window/motion sensors that will be making the move.

Question: Do the switches and door locks need to be excluded from the ISY or can the new owner include them without any issues?  Do they need to excluded them with their new hub and then include?

They can be excluded with their own hub. I'd ensure everything worked properly without the ISY hooked up prior to pulling it out

I'd make sure that they are aware that you are taking the isy and they would need to bring their own hub as well.

HI there, how did selling pass? Did you sell yourself or with realtor? I'm moving out soon and I want to sell my house. I understand that it will be difficult to do this myself and I want to turn to professionals. My friends advise me not to hire a realtor but to contact this company. https://www.thepropertybuyingcompany.co.uk/landers/sell-house-fast They bought their house last year. They offered almost the best price on the market and also made the purchase very quickly. I have some doubts yet, so, I am looking for other options and advices.

Hi,

I sold the house last August.  I did create a guide if you will that detailed the ISY and this forum.  They did not pay the asking price, therefore they did not get my time to help them to teach them about the system. :) The document has all instructions on how to move over the rachio, honeywell, nest, google/alexa and camera systems to their email.  Worked with Universal Devices to get the ISY to the new owners email.

The realtor was not very smart with respect to home automation.  I had to educate them on that.  They were asking questions that I think that they googled.

It's funny that you say that. Many people don't know they want it. They just know that they do. I do so many homes where I ask what they are looking for and the answer is always I don't know. I just heard it's cool or I saw it on TV. Lol

There was a older client who asked me regarding the latest generation clapper. [emoji1785] I burst out laughing because I’ve never seen or used one myself in Canada.

3 weeks later I go to the mail box and what do I see?!?

A clapper . . . [emoji1787]

I shared that information and experience on another forum and the result was all of us pitched in and purchased a Amazon Echo & Dot and set them up for the old timer.

All I know is grandpa is now rocking the next generation clapper!! [emoji869][emoji106]

Absolutely... wouldn't have posted it... thanks for asking.  Attached a word document for your convenience.

I originally started this for my wife, just in case.
