Use my phone's bluetooth to help my house know I'm home?

I'm trying to improve my automation and I was thinking that, because my phone is on me 99.9% of the time (I have no landline), maybe the bluetooth can help tell my ISY that I'm home.

I saw this door lock at smarthome:

This devices makes me think of the idea that some kind of a bluetooth sensor could tell my ISY that I'm home. Maybe some kind of a long-range bluetooth sensor could be directly wired to an insteon module (like an iolinc) that is "on" when I'm home and "off" when I'm gone.

I see a couple of limitations:

1) my phone's bluetooth is probably limited to 30 feet or less, so the system might think I am out of the house when I'm actually home.

2) $250 seems like a lot of jack for this thing.

Does anyone have any experience or recommendations?
