I suspect my woes are due to my PLM.  Those things are notorious.  Every time I have one die, I end up ordering the wrong thing.  What do I need to get that works with the ISY994? 

2413S Serial interface Insteon PLM.

Smartenit makes an EZIComm  5010K PLM. It is an older 2412S Base Insteon with their own daughter board. It is single band and  it is not the best choice. I personally would stay away from it.

How old is your old one? Can you give us any details on the problem one. Like the information on the stickers on the back.

On the off chance your old one is a 2412S. It could power the ISY994i. If you don't have an external wall wart power supply on the ISY994i. You would need one.
