Program Trigger based on Device Button Push?

Hi all,

Tried to search for this, but got nowhere. In HouseLinc (yeah, shoot me!), it would know that a device button was set from off to on or vice versa. I have not seen where or if that can be accomplished in the ISY. What I want to do is trigger a timer in a program that turns off a given Insteon device at some interval (say 2 hours) after it is manually turned on at the device itself.

That possible on this platform?

Thanks!

I learned this a few months ago too...

In the ISY a "Control" function is from a device being manually switched on/off/dim or motion or contact sensors being triggered.  A "status" is only for programmatic use for if/when the status of a device changes and can be used with a "wait" as the status change can interrupt (stop) a program or reset it and be used like a timer.

Hopefully I'm explaining that correctly.  If not I'll get shot :)

Ok, thanks! I will check that out. Could have been named something clearer like "DeviceEvent" but I am late to the design / requirements party! ;-)

Naming things are tricky. What's clear for 1 may not be clear for another person. The wiki does cover this type of info
