Insteon fan control

Have a fan with remote control module built in. Removed  that remote control module and replaced with Insteon fan control. Just realized the fan has six speeds.  I don't need six speeds.  Will the Insteon control still work with this?

May depend on the fan motor and how the remote set the speeds.

If the fan has an AC motor it may work. If it is one of the ones with a DC motor and controller.  It will not work at all.

What model fan is it. We maybe able to look it up and try and determine how it is controlled.

Hi.  It is DC.  Guess I will be taking it out.  Thanks!
