RichTJ99 Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Hi, Right now, my guest bathroom has a single gang box. In that box it has a dual switch (non insteon). One switch for the fan, one switch for the light. I have a Inline linc relay (non button relay) & either a keypad (my wife thinks they look ugly) or a regular switchlinc dimmer. I was wondering what the best way to set this up is? I think, I could goto the attic & cut the wire that goes to the fan, put it into a box & splice the inline linc relay into the mix. Then put the switchlinc in & figure a way to make on turn on the lights & double on turns on the fan too. I also plan to put a motion sensor in for automation as well, but thats another story. I dont think putting a dual box into the wall is in the picture for me. Thanks for the advice, Rich
chuckl Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Agreed! Don't cut the wall for a double-gang box. KeypadLinc/Inline devices is the best combo to go with. Tell your wife the KeypadLinc is "only temporary" and you're waiting for this to be released: http://forums.homeseer.com/showthread.php?p=873116
RichTJ99 Posted July 18, 2009 Author Posted July 18, 2009 Actually, I was doing some testing with some other devices & it seems pretty easy to make 1 tap (on) turn on the local light & then a program that will turn on the fan with 2 taps (fast on). Cool stuff! I am loving the ISY!
