brians Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 Seems that whenever I make a change to anything, the ISY goes through at least 4 progress bars of "Please do no power off.unplug the system or make adjustments to linked/attached devices". For example if I add a Z-Wave device to a scene it goes through this long process which could take a minute or two and gets a bit frustrating after a while. It's not just Z-Wave devices, any device and it takes a while updating things I don't think are relevant. I look closely and it seems to be talking to Node Servers - I have ISYLink installed with DSC and ISY data nodes installed. ISY spends an awful long time talking to these nodes whenever I make a change elsewhere. Anyone else have this issue or is this just issue with ISYLink? What about Polyglot - would that do same thing? Is my ISY in a strange configuration? I am using 5.0.16
larryllix Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 Could be comm problems where ISY keeps trying repeatedly, or a program that is locked into a tight loop. I/O is the usual bottleneck for ISY. Check your program summary page and sort them by running vs static programs and watch the table. Sometimes you can see icons flashing repeatedly.
brians Posted October 21, 2019 Author Posted October 21, 2019 I don't think I have an I/O problem, I am just wondering why it wants to do some updates to node server devices when I do something unrelated like even change LED backlight level on a SwitchLInc for example. Here is a video and don't see why it has to try to update a Zwave 014_1 device (which is a ZOOZ double-plug on/off node) and isylink DSC Alarm and ISY data nodes when I am just changing a backlight level. brians Posted October 30, 2019 Author Posted October 30, 2019 I think I solved the problem. I recently upgraded PLM. I had a couple Insteon motion detectors that I didn't really care about for long time (batteries dead and too lazy to change). Anyways they had pending writes on them. Tonight I put new batteries in them and did the write changes. Now my Insteon updates instantly and doesn't take a long time anymore. Seems ISY was hung up on fact that it had some updates to write somewhere which cause the entire process to slow down when I did an update on any device.
