Zooz zse29 outdoor motion sensor, success and issues

I am able to obtain motion sensor events from the Zooz zse29 motion sensor, but there are issues. It installs as shown:

If I leave the zse29 in test mode, I am able to receive motion events from the motion sensor, but have the following issues:

* If I attempt to put the zse29 in normal mode(turns off led when motion detected, allows adjusting timeout interval and brightness detection level), it does not report motion events.

* When the zse29 is in test mode, and  a motion event is received, the exclamation point icons seen in the picture above change to the pending write icon. If I then right click the device, and select "Write update to device", I get the following message, and the icons change back to the exclamation points:

Since the zse29 is one of the only zwave outdoor motion sensors, it would be great if the ISY fully supported it.

From the way it looks, it is supported but sounds like you're having communication issues. What's your firmware and UI?

Remove the sensor from the isy and re-add it. Keep the sensor close to the isy and see how it performs in normal mode.

What other zwave devices do you have and what other zwave devices are close to the sensor?

Did you do a network heal?

I am running 5.0.16. There is an aeotec range extender 6 located inside the garage on the opposite side of the wall from the zse29, and there are other zwave devices inside the garage as well. The reported communication problem has nothing to do with an "out of range" problem. I have done lots of testing by walking around in front of the sensor, and detected motion is being reliably seen by the ISY with the zse29 in test mode.

I'd still  remove it and re-add it just in case it wasn't configured properly. There's other users on here with success so I do believe it's supported. Test it in normal mode in front of the isy just to ensure proper communication. Once in it's final place run a heal.

While you may feel is not communication, it still can be. I've seen crazy stuff when it comes to zwave
