iowaj Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 I had to replace some failed switches and am trying to put them in a scene to control each other: a 2477S Dual Band On/Off Switch v.45, a 2876DS Icon On/Off Switch v.28, and then a button on a 2334-2 Keypadlinc Dimmer 8 Buttons v.43. I put them all in the scene as controllers but I cannot get them to work together. The fist switch listed is the load and it works fine. The second switch is the slave and the 3rd a newer button switch. When in the scene, I can see that the 2nd switch and the button respond to each other, but of course since they aren't responding to that 1st load switch they don't actually turn anything on/off. Any thoughts? Could the problem be that the 2nd switch is not dual band? Also, I know I need to update to the latest version for ISY994i from the v.4.6.2 that I have. Can I do a straight update to v.7.3? Am hoping to get these switches going so I can backup before upgrading. Thanks for any input!
lilyoyo1 Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 What's actually happening with the switches? Did you configure each switch for each controller?
iowaj Posted October 31, 2019 Author Posted October 31, 2019 I don't think I know exactly what you are asking. The two switches are supposed to both control the same light. The broken switch I replaced with the 2876DS switch is the slave. I added it to the system as usual and then replaced the old switch with this one, transferring any links, but it won't turn on the light. The 2477S Dual Band Switch which is the load was already in the system and working fine with light. The button switch is already in the system but wasn't working to turn on/off light either. I thought after I put the 2876D switch in the communication between all would be restored. It's not. The button will activate the slave switch but neither are communicating through the system with the load. I then removed all links from the 2 switches and button and tried creating a new scene with all 3 controlling each other but got the same scenario as above. New switch and button communicate, but not with the load switch.
oberkc Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 It sounds as if you did things right...put all three devices in a scene, all as controllers. Good. One thing to check is the responder levels for each controller. Within this scene, click on each of the controllers and see if the other two devices (as responders to the selected controller) have ON levels that you desire. May some be set very low, or to zero? If so, adjust them to suit.
lilyoyo1 Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 Click on each device and make sure that each controller is set to turn the other switches on. If so, right click on each one and choose wow updates to devices

lilyoyo1 Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 Are the devices set to turn on? Choose 5wire updates on each device
lilyoyo1 Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 Just now, iowaj said: Not sure what you mean by checking ON levels. I know you can for dimmers, but these are OFF/ON switches so no ON levels to set. Post a screen shot of your scene
iowaj Posted October 31, 2019 Author Posted October 31, 2019 The load switch (.L) works to turn the light on and off. And the scene seems to work in that when I select on, all the switches are responding BUT the light does not come on. It will only turn on when I manually or via ISY turn on the load switch.
lilyoyo1 Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 I would remove each device from the scene and re-add them making sure that they are added as controllers. Once done, click on each device under the scene and make sure all devices are set to on

I have other scenes like this with other switches so am a bit baffled why this won't work. I am wondering if I need to update that load switch to a dual band switch. But the system recognizes the switch.
lilyoyo1 Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 I doubt that. factory reset each switch then choose restore devices.

I know you can for dimmers, but these are OFF/ON switches so no ON levels to set. For each controller in a scene, responder levels can be different, including to what level they go to and ramp rates. It sounded as if you had at least one dimmer, but even on/off devices can (if I recall correctly) be set to turn OFF in response to an ON command from the controller. My suggestion is to at least confirm that this is not the case.
iowaj Posted November 6, 2019 Author Posted November 6, 2019 Thanks all! Finally got back to this project. Did a factory reset of both on/off switches, restored switches, and then put linked them in scene. Success! Thank you all for the input.
