RichTJ99 Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Hi, I am currently using DS10A's to monitor my doors. The X10 sensor is pretty good at having a very small gap between the sensors, so if the door is open but not fully shut, I can tell that. The Triggerlinc has a pretty big gap & I am having a hard time with it. For example, the triggerlinc has a 1 inch (at least) gap in it. I can have the front door not fully closed (the door against the frame but not in the closed / locked position) and the triggerlinc says it is closed (due to the gap). The X10 sensor magnet seems to be less powerful which makes the gap smaller in the sensor. Any ways around this for the triggerlincs? Thanks, RIch
fitzpatri8 Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 You can change the placement of the magnet, change the placement of the receiver, or discard the included magnet and instead wire up your own set of contacts, whichever you prefer.
RichTJ99 Posted July 22, 2009 Author Posted July 22, 2009 So your saying if I am so crazy about my DS10A's in terms of sensor strength, i could clip the wires off the DS10a & run them on the triggerlinc? That is genius! Is that the case?
fitzpatri8 Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 You shouldn't need to clip anything. Both the TriggerLinc and the DS-10 have screw terminals to connect external sensors.
RichTJ99 Posted July 22, 2009 Author Posted July 22, 2009 Sorry, I mean can I take the wiring from teh DS10A sensors (that are all ready in place all over my house) & put the wires into the Triggerlinc?
