I have tried with two different browsers (firefox and IE) and on two different machines to download, and the isy/autoupdate username/password just doesn't work for me. Is the beta no longer available?

Same here. I couldn't get it to work either. The insteon.zip file downloads, but ISY says it's corrupt when attempting a manual upgrade. Username/Password message keeps popping up when attempting the unsuccessful download.

Hello all,

I removed the credentials from the update site so you can go ahead and download the firmware without the need for userid/pwd.

Sincere apologies for the inconvenience.

With kind regards,

Michel

HI dswalins,

Apologies for a tardy reply ... I cannot think of any reason that this would not work in 2.7.6. Would you be kind enough to reboot your router and then retry.

Please note that manual forwarding is much more stable than UPnP forwarding simply because the router, if rebooted, will drop all the previous rules.

With kind regards,

Michel

I upgraded from 2.7.0 to 2.7.6 last night. All went right for the most part. It was odd that I could no longer use the uPnP for enabling internet access. I had to manually forward the port.

Any ideas? I guess it's not a big deal to go to the router versus going to admin console as I change it but would prefer it to work if possible.

Router is a WRT160N and it was working with 2.7.0.

Running 2.7.6, I've installed a brand new KeyPadLinc Dimmer (V5.1 0926). I'm trying to add three buttons to the same scene. Two Buttons (F and G) add fine. Button H fails every time. I see errors in the Event Viewer including "Received an Ack for a Different Device" and "Process Message: Failed". I can send the Event Viewer file if it would be helpful (I don't see how to attach the .txt file to this post). I removed the KPL in Admin Console, did a physical factory-reset of the device and tried again. Failed again.

After the "Request Failed" message, it seems that the H button does turn the lights on (but it doesn't appear in the 'Scene'). I've tried this both with F,G,H as "Mutually Exclusive" and not ME. My intention is to have these three buttons turn on the same set of lights at different brightnesses. Is this a defective KPL or something else going on?

Thanks!

Hi Scott,

This seems to be KPL related (otherwise I would've asked you to upgrade to 2.7.7 or 2.7.8). Would you be kind enough to factory reset your KPL, do a restore on it (Right Mouse Click | Restore Device), and then retry?

With kind regards,

Michel

Michel,

I've factory-reset the KPL and then done a Device-Restore. Does a Device-Restore on any KPL button restore all 8 buttons? I did a restore on 3 or 4 of the buttons including the failing button ('H') just in case.

Problem still occurs. Adding 'H' button to scene fails. Another weird piece of information. I've been setting up the ISY to receive IR from my universal remote. I have an IR Press working for two buttons on my remote. After the failure with KPL button H, I start getting errors when pressing the IR remote buttons. So far, it seems that the KPL button-add is what triggers later failures with the IR buttons even though the devices controlled are unrelated(see below):

Extracted from Events log of trying to add KPL 'H' button:

After above failure, pressing IR remote button, I see:

Hi ScottK,

Do you have this problem with only one KPL?

From the logs, it seems that your KPL (or something else) is incorrectly responding to commands. By any chance, is this KPL v.1.5 (2D on the Admin Console). If not, what is the version number for this KPL?

With kind regards,

Michel

Michel,

The admin console indicates the KPL is V.36. The faceplate of the KPL indicates V5.1 0926.

The only time that I've seen this specific issue is when trying to add button 'H' of this KPL to a scene. This KPL replaces an older one and I don't remember having this issue with the older KPL or with the three other KPLs that I have although I haven't tried to reconfigure the others recently. The other thing I've been configuring recently is IR using both the ISY/IR and an IR-Linc but this is for unrelated devices. Can you suggest any tests I can do to narrow it down? Would it help to try to linc button 'H' manually?

Michel,

I created a new Scene and added F and H buttons as controllers successfully but then when I go to add G button, it fails. So it doesn't always fail on the same button. Maybe some weird conflict between G & H buttons? I've chatted with Smarthome about replacing the KPL and hopefully that will take care of at least some of my problem.

I now have the 'bad' KPL's SET button pulled out which i assume means it won't respond to any Insteon traffic. When i push a button on my universal remote, I still see an error. So it may be (or maybe not) that the KPL is starting a sequence of events, but the KPL isn't generating the bad message that I see when using the IR remote. What's the best way to diagnose this?

Scott

Hi ScottK,

The main issue is that your PLM is sending the same ACK twice:

2010/01/05 15:07:41 : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 01.3A.EC 0F 11 7F 06

2010/01/05 15:07:41 : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 01.3A.EC 0F 11 7F 06

In normal operations there should be one INST-SRX for each INST-ACK:

ACK is the PLM responding to ISY

SRX is the response from the remote device

So, at the moment, if your problems is only with one KPL, I would think the KPL is sending something that confuses the PLM and then the PLM sends the ACK twice. If this theory proves wrong, then in all likelihood we have a defective PLM ....

With kind regards,

Michel
