Mustang65 Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 All the programs have been running as scheduled until last night sometime. This morning the front outside hall light did not shut off as scheduled. We came back this afternoon and the yard lights were on, there is no program to activate the yard lights, just the mini-remotes. I tested all the motion sensors and they are all activating and sending an on and off, as seen in the Admin Cnsl. The Event Viewer is seeing the sensors when activated. I do not think it is the PLM, but I really have now clue. - There was no change when I rebooted the ISY and PLM (unplugged both, waited, plugged in the PLM, waited, plugged in the ISY) - Took out a new (never used) motion sensor and programmed it into isy, created a simple program to turn on the UtilityRoom lights when activated.. Nothing Ideas?
madcodger Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 I’d say dead PLM, but there are far better experts here than me. It is basically the Achilles heel of the ISY when using Insteon.
Mustang65 Posted November 25, 2019 Author Posted November 25, 2019 PLM is what I was hopping it was not going to be. Others agree? Dread the replacement process. As I manually (OK, using the Admin Cnsl) turn off all the security lights, and water each of the gardens I am trying to figure out how to run around the property and house setting all the modules/sensors to set before I activate the new spare PLM. Does anyone how long the modules/sensors will stay in "SET" mode before going back to their normal functions? Rereading, again, the proper process for the PLM change out. Never had these issues with the X10 for 20 some years. Of course the $29 PLM sale is probably is over by now, so I will probably have to pay full price for a new spare PLM. SmartHome should with proof of purchase, replace the defective PLM's for their cost. Needless to say the PAR (Partner Acceptance Rating) has now hit a new ALL TIME low.
Brian H Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 Some signs of a PLM issue. The LED on the side is dim or out. The Link Database is empty or has very few entries. Power cycling the PLM sometimes restores operation for a short time. Restoring the PLM will work for a short time. If the PLM is less then two years old. A warranty should be in place. The presently sold hardware revision is V2.5. It has improvements in it. That should make it more reliable. Though it could be awhile before we could verify it. Some Amazon Merchants have been reported to have older stock in their inventory. The $29.00 sale was for less than a week if I remember correctly
