Insteon Keypad Controlled By Z-Wave Switch

So I have an overhead light controlled by a Z-Wave switch. At multiple points are Insteon Keypads. I made a scene for the overhead light with the switch and appropriate Keypad buttons as controllers. When turning on the light with the Keypad, the overhead light comes on and all Keypad buttons light up like they should. But when I turn on the overhead light with the Z-Wave switch, none of the keypad buttons light up. My question is this: how do I make the Keypad buttons light up when turning on the overhead light with the switch? Do I use a program on the ISY? Or do I have my scene set up wrong?

Is this a virtual 3 way or real 3 way setup?

What zwave switch are you using? Does it automatically update it's status in the isy when you control it?

I have the same issue.  For now, I just live with it.  I keep hearing that this could depend on which zwave switch one has (mine are ge/jasco from lowes) but I have not used many different zwave switches in scenes.

In case you have not notices, the same zwave switch probably will not trigger “control” conditions in programs...only “status” conditions.

Maybe there are other zwave switches that would work in this case, but mine are mostly the result of impulse purchases when I see good deals.  If I am going to pay $50 for a light swich, I will get insteon.  Besides, I have a supply of spare insteon switches, but am too lazy to replace the zwave switch with one.  I guess it is not important enough to me.

I am having the same issue with Homeseer and other Z-wave switches.  All the devices (Insteon and Z-wave devices) in the scene get triggered correctly except the keypad.  The keypad does send the correct signal to the Z-wave device but not vice versa.  I just wrote an ISY program to trigger the whole scene.  The keypad is included in the scene.  Hope that helps.  I think ISY calls it virtual scene which means an ISY program is needed.   Let me know if you find a different brand that works with the keypad.
