andrew77 Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 I just noticed this now. I don't have a thermostat (one of the new ones) so I'm perplexed. I tried to remove the device from the portal and re add it. It automatically pops up as a thermostat. Any help would be great. Drew

ISY Portal identifies a device using the hint of the device (the device category). If it is incorrectly set by the Nodeserver, it may incorrectly be identified as a thermostat. Those hints are considered thermostats: 1.12.x.x (Ecobee and other Nodeserver thermostats) 4.8.x.x (ZWave thermostats) 5.x.x.x (Insteon thermostat) Benoit

I've been going through my Portal and noticed most devices are listed as Contact Sensor. I've changed some of them to Light but stopped to get this post up. So far the ones marked Thermostat are two KPL A buttons. Under Alexa Category, all devices give me a drop down menu except those two KPL buttons. Drew

Try: http://<your isy ip>/rest/nodes This will give you all of your nodes. From there, you can locate the kpl button node and try the url with the correct address, or just cut and paste the node from /rest/nodes Benoit

Do I change the <type>? ELK is an insteon compatible security system. My KPL shows the same thing it must be some alternate address for the ELK option. The ELK address given looks like the old "X-10" address scheme. When I add my KPL-A button (on my 8 button KPL and my 6 button KPL) to Google Home or Alexa in the portal, it's category switches to "Light". So yours doesn't? I probably can't help much from here other than to tell you to reset the KPL to factory default and re-add it to your ISY. It might not hurt to know your exact model number of your KPL also.
