madcodger Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 We use Verizon (grudgingly, but they have good coverage in Maine) for our mobile provider. For notifications from the ISYs, I had switched from having emails sent to vtext, over to vzwpix, because the latter gave me a longer message field (more characters per message). But I stopped getting texts from the ISY on about March 23. I switched back to vtext last night on one of my ISYs, and texts resumed from it. I'm wondering if others have had similar issues with vzwpix, or whether there might just be a monthly message limit for it (was not aware of one). I get about 4-8 messages each day between both ISYs, mostly status updates of sensors as we're often away from this remote property. If anyone else is seeing something similar, would appreciate knowing. Thanks.
DennisC Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 I also use both, depending on message size and have not had a problem with either. 1

Do you receive more than about 100 messages per month via vzwpix? My issues started when I added a second ISY so I'm wondering if perhaps it's a monthly limit on that service.
DennisC Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 I am monitoring 2 houses and definitely exceed 100 messages a month just from the monitoring.
TrojanHorse Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 Yes had the same problem. Rebooting my iPhone helped. Maybe something on Verizon’s end? Of course several things could go wrong that would prevent a text going through. I’d suggest using a dedicated email address to send alerts and add this account to your phone’s email app. Then you can easily see any undelivered bounce backs and also check the sent folder. Not perfect but better...Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
