bcfromva Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 Hello, I'm trying to set up a program so that when the room temperature reaches 75 degrees, the ceiling fan turns on. The program works, but there's a problem in that the Multisensor doesn't send updates often enough to be useful. My Multisensor is on wired power. I set the parameter 111 to 300 seconds, so it's supposed to send "report group 1" every 5 minutes; and it sometimes does, but other times it does not. I also set the "report group 1" to report only temperature (not the other sensors). Here's an except from the log: ZW 002 Current Temp 71.9F 4:13:15 PM ZW 002 Current Temp 72.0F 4:18:16 PM ZW 002 Current Temp 72.1F 4:23:16 PM ZW 002 Current Temp 72.2F 4:28:16 PM ZW 002 Current Temp 72.4F 4:33:15 PM ZW 002 Current Temp 72.3F 4:38:14 PM ZW 002 Current Temp 72.4F 5:08:14 PM ZW 002 Current Temp 72.5F 5:13:14 PM ZW 002 Current Temp 72.4F 5:33:14 PM ZW 002 Current Temp 72.3F 5:43:14 PM ZW 002 Current Temp 72.4F 5:48:14 PM ZW 002 Current Temp 72.3F 6:08:14 PM ZW 002 Current Temp 72.4F 6:33:13 PM ZW 002 Current Temp 72.3F 6:38:13 PM ZW 002 Current Temp 72.4F 7:18:12 PM ZW 002 Current Temp 72.3F 7:23:13 PM As you can see, it sometimes does it at 5 minutes, but also skips many reports. Anyone have any idea what's going on? EDIT: The sensor is about 2 feet from the ISY controller.
Techman Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 It's possible that your multisensor 6 may be using a different route rather than talking directly to the ISY Try running a "Heal Z-Wave network" which will correct any routing issues.
simplextech Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 It looks as though it's reporting correctly. The Aeotec Multisensor is reporting based on your configuration of every 300 seconds AND temp change. If there's no change from the previous report to the current report then it will not report.
bcfromva Posted April 28, 2020 Author Posted April 28, 2020 Thanks! I tried the Heal Z-Wave Network function for the heck of it, though this is my only Z-wave device. Simplextech's idea makes sense when it skips occasionally, however Sunday night, it did not report for several hours, and when it did report again in the morning, there was a several degree difference, so there was something else going on Sunday night, at least. Last night, it reported throughout the night per normal.
Techman Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 With the Multisensor 6, unlike the Insteon thermostats, it will send the report even if there's been no change in the temperature, humidity, etc.
jfai Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 I've configured the Aeotec MultiSensor 6 as follows: Parameter 40 - Selective Reporting = 1 (Enable) Parameter 41 - Temp. threshold = 0x202 (0.2 degrees Fahrenheit) Parameter 101 - Report group 1= 0xF1 (default: luminance, humidity, temperature, UV, battery) Parameter 111 - Interval time for report group 1 = 120 (seconds)
