5 year old PLM v2.1, is it time to replace it?

Good evening,

I've been trying to figure out some strange things happening, where the ISY thinks some insteon items are on, when it's off and off when it's on.  I've not been able to reproduce these issues.

My PLM is 2413s is a v2.1 1505 (built in 2015 5th week I believe)  purchased in March of 2015.

Soooooo.... is it time to replace it, or should I keep trying to track down these ghosts, or replace the PLM and see how it goes?

It is possible the PLM maybe starting to fail. Over two years old was one factor.
Some indications. Where PLM Link table almost empty and a PLM restore would correct it for awhile.
LED on the side off or dimmer than you remembered. Cycling the power would correct operations for awhile.

The V2.5 2413S is what is being sold last time I checked. I know it has an improved power supply and serial port daughter board.

I would get a new one and swap it in to prove it or not. If the problem doesn't improve, I would swap the original back in and then you have a spare for an older PLM.

This is what I did and I now have a tested spare for my 6.5 year old PLM. I have never  needed a replacement for my ISY994, PLM or other electronic device in my home due to PSU failure.

Now I should get back to watching my round tube TV in black and white, again.

My PLMs have lasted about three years. On my fourth one. Backup your ISY, open the Event Viewer, Set the level to 3, and then try doing a Restore Modem (PLM). If you get a bunch of errors or unacknowledged writes, or just general hanging of the process, good chance the PLM is bad.

So I did what you said, are these errors when is says previous message ignored?  There are a ton of other messages that are "MNG-LNK-RSP" type.  Just wasn't sure about the ignored.
