lpollis Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 I am "new" to ISY even though I have had an ISY-26 since it came out and I just upgraded to the ISY-99 and thought I'd give another try. I did not use the first one because it messed up my existing system and homelinc was satisfying my needs and (i thought) was much easier to use. Somehow I think my feelings haven't changed! But, that said, I am sitll going to give the '99 a try. Problem: I created a program (or 4) 2 nights ago and saved them. They worked great. Simple programs: turn the outside lights on at 15 past sunset and off at 9 pm. Another to do the same with the yard lights. etc. Now they have disappeared. I have tried to recreate and I cannot save them. The green arrow stays and the Program Summary says not saved. I have 3 computers: One is XP Pro (an older system) and Java Runtime went to 100%. System was sluggish. Tried another system with Vista Ultimate and I still cannot save. I have other issues and questions as well but I will try the forums search a little longer and see if I can resolve them. Lp
Brian H Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 In the tools tab. Diagnostics Section. What does the PLM/Status Test tell you? Should say connected and give the six digit address of the PLM; firmware revision.
lpollis Posted September 27, 2009 Author Posted September 27, 2009 BTW, I just returned from the Symphony and went to answer your question and briefly saw my programs that I had save a couple of days ago! But now something is really flaky! The system is doing some type of scan and reporting that it cannot find many of my devices. So I do not have any idea of what is going on! I really have not had any problem on the other system and certainly no hardware issues. Just typing this is painful as the admin console keeps taking away the focus when it reports that it cannot communicate with a module. This is totally new behavior.
Michel Kohanim Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Hello lpollis, Long time no see! v4A is a PLM from more than 2 years ago and one which had major communications problems. The newest PLM version is 85 and much more stable and reliable. So, from the surface, I would assume the problem is your PLM. This said, however - and just to make sure you are going to have a good experience this time - may I humbly ask you to call our tech support M-F 9-5 and we'll diagnose the issues remotely for you. With kind regards, Michel BTW, I just returned from the Symphony and went to answer your question and briefly saw my programs that I had save a couple of days ago! But now something is really flaky! lpollis Posted September 27, 2009 Author Posted September 27, 2009 Thank you Michel for the quick reply and the tech supt suggestion but I'll try the updated PLM first. I knew that I had one but I didn't check the version. Since that is a 'real' problem, it just makes sense to do that. It will be here on Wednesday and I'll give that a try and see if it cures my problem(s). I'll respond back and let you know. If problems persist, I'll give tech supt a call.
Michel Kohanim Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Hello lpollis, My pleasure. Please do make sure to follow these instructions: 1. For best performance, please try factory resetting your ISY (removes everything you've already added) 2. Please add your devices using the first option (remove existing links). This will remove all existing links to other devices as well as to HouseLinc. So, please do this one section at a time to make sure everything works Please do not hesitate to contact us in case you run into any problems whatsoever.
