twired Posted July 27, 2020 Share Posted July 27, 2020 I just changed out the battery on a 2843 door sensor. Now it will not respond to door opening and closing with status updates. Everything just says on. The main tab shows yellow arrow next to device listing. I have restored and updated the device with no luck. It worked fine before battery died. Bring the Open-Close sensor to the 2413S PLM and open the sensor via the magnet. Does the action of opening / closing show up in the Level 3 logs? Thanks Are you talking about these yellow arrows? If so they represent the 2-3 nodes from open, close, heart beat. Did your Open-Close sensor ever have three nodes one being the heart beat node? But the sensor is still not communicating with the ISY. Welps, you have a couple of choices and that is to delete the device from the ISY. Hard reset the device as outlined by the full users manual. Once that has been completed enroll the sensor back into the system. You have three choices and that is to use *Light Bulb* link new device, the two colored whirling arrows, or at the top from the tool bar and selecting *Link Management. The reason I am calling this out is because somewhere in the firmware release older Open-Closed hardware would not enroll correctly. The most common was not seeing the third heart beat node (IF) it exists. This doesn't mean it's going to add a 3rd node if the hardware (firmware) doesn't support it! So try the *light bulb* first and go down the list until it operates correctly. Keep in mind sometimes when the AC doesn't reflect the status this is due to interference in the environment. In the worst case its because the sensor has simply failed and needs to be replaced. Regardless, delete, hard reset, and add it back using the light bulb . . . If that fails use the 2 colored whirling arrows . . . If that fails use the Link Management from the top tool bar and select the *Correct* model of Open-Close sensor as noted. Sometimes ISY AC still shows wrong status, but the program that is tied to this works flawlessly. So thanks for your assistance. And now I know what the yellow arrows mean. So thanks for your assistance. And now I know what the yellow arrows mean. Great to hear and right mouse click and select *Group* so those child nodes stay together. If the AC still displays the incorrect status you need to unplug any RF / electronic hardware in the home. As it will just get worse over time and keep in mind if you don't have a lot of Insteon dual band hardware. It's imperative that you complete the 4 tap beacon test to confirm proper bridging / coupling of the split single phase electrical system in your home.
