Scene devices responding opposite

Hi,

I hope someone can help me. I have a scene with four devices in it. Two of the devices work as programmed; the other two go ON, even though they are set to go OFF. I have deleted the scene and the devices multiple times; but it's always the same. Two of the devices do exactly opposite of what they show in the scene.

Just for kicks, I programmed the scene to turn them on, hoping it would turn them off; but of course, they went on.

Other scenes using those same two devices work properly! I can't figure out where the conflict is.

Thanks for any help you can give me,

Craig

Posting some screen shots might help.  This forum makes that easy, if you're on windows press [Windows Key][Shift][S] to open the snipping tool, make a screen grab, which goes to your clipboard automatically.   Then when replying to this thread just press Ctrl-V and your screen grab will be pasted into the message.

Also, The most commonly misunderstood part of scene programming is that each controller in a scene has it's own attributes.  If switch A, B, and C are all controllers each has it's own scene settings or attributes.  Then the Scene itself also has a set of scene settings or attributes, those are used when the ISY is the controller.

Ok, here is what I have. The devices which don't respond correctly are "Theater Closets" and "Theater Under Stairs." And I just realized that "Theater Sconces N & E" don't respond in 4.5 seconds.

Thanks for your help!

I control it with an Insteon IRLinc (2411r). I have several other scenes controlled with this unit and they all behave as they should. I have tried controlling it with a different link button on the IRLinc, but it makes no difference.

I thought maybe I had a program conflicting with it, but I have disabled the only program that contains these devices--controllers and responders.

Please click on the red IRLinc E shown in your latest picture.

It will have a set of scene definitions.  Do they match your 1st picture?

It sounds like you didnt configure the scene controller. One thing why your lights are not turning on in 4.5 seconds may be the bulbs themselves. If you are using LEDs this may be the culprit. LEDs generally have a harder time ramping up vs ramping down.

gzahar,

No, they didn't match! But why? I thought they would get their commands by what was set under the name of the scene. I have them working now--THANK YOU so very much--but can you explain why/how?

Thanks,

Craig

Each Controller in scene has it's own scene attributes.  In your case there are 2 scene controllers: "IRLinc E" and the ISY itself (whose scene attributes are set at the root level of the scene or as shown in your screenshot "Theater TV end").

In other words the root level scene is what happens when the ISY itself controls the scene, each RED Controller entry in the tree also has its own attributes that must be configured.
