They do. I wish they would share more info but they've been busy

I know they've had numerous products under development for several years,  but when they get released is anyone's guess. Being that the products are made in China I would assume that between the tariff debacle and the pandemic their production has been impacted.

The pandemic has pushed things back for alot of companies. This year has been trying to say the least

I also wish they would at least share some information with the public. Even just a we are working on new stuff but can't be exact yet.

Right now I see posts indicating the member was going to go to a different protocol. Due to no information to is new stuff coming or is Insteon about to be severely cut back or dropped.

The proprietary nature of Insteon products, combined with many failures of switches in the "Icon" line produced by that manufacturer, is what drove me to z-wave for my most recent two properties. I miss some things that worked well with Insteon, but overall am happy with the change. I don't miss Smarthome, that's for sure.

Even Zwave had a proprietary Tx chip made by only only manufacturer. It was just the propagandists didn't let the public know that part. I really do hope Insteon has some groundbreaking news for Insteon but grow very tired of the "surprise" that never comes. We did get a "beeper", and they discontinued the MS for a replacement unit full of problems, in the last ten years.

Did not know that. I've found that there is a difference in quality from one z-wave manufacturer to another, so I've enjoyed the ability to have a choice in that. But if there's a critical component with only one source, that certainly creates its own vulnerabilities, of course.

Late last year, the owner of the patent released the chip technology to allow other companies to produce the chip. I can't remember if it is now open or licensed.
They hid that fact well while Insteon was being smeared for the same aspect.

Good news, though. Thanks for the update!

Looking back through the article (link posted above) it was made to look as a competitive move against other companies forming a consortium to develop another RF protocol and oust Zwave.
