PB11 Posted October 19, 2020 Posted October 19, 2020 Hello All Hoping someone can offer some insight. I have a water main connected to an insteon IOLinc. When my 4 leak sensors detect "wet" the valve is meant to close. This am we woke to no water. Sure enough the valve had been closed. I looked to ensure none of the sensors wet. log within the isy admin console is blank. Is there anyway to see what and when this was triggered? Also, what's the best method to send notifications when something like this is triggered? Thanks for any suggestions.
larryllix Posted October 19, 2020 Posted October 19, 2020 The "log was blank"? That would be rather odd. Use the notify program construct. It works with email and can be converted to an SMS message. It also can contain variable information. Search for Belias user here for a tested method of leak detection programs.
PB11 Posted October 19, 2020 Author Posted October 19, 2020 Thanks Larry. Ya, I've been having some odd behaviour as of late. Devices not found in isy, and Alexa randomly rediscovering all my devices. Someone mentioned it might be my ssd card. I have one on order. Assuming I simply have to restore my most recent backup once SSD card is swapped out.

Have you tried removing the microSD card and cleaning the contacts with >75% alcohol or contact cleaner, on a Q-tip, and then replacing it? 1

After doing that, installing your credentials and location, time zone etc.. you can restore your latest image.
PB11 Posted October 19, 2020 Author Posted October 19, 2020 Continue to get "server timeout" with both Gmail and default server settings. How would I go about converting to sms?

You can prove this from your email client to your cell phone.
MrBill Posted October 19, 2020 Posted October 19, 2020 If you have AT&T the SMS/MMS gateway isn't really reliable (it works about 97% of the time but the 3% failure rate will occur when you really wanted the message the most) (AT&T also uses different gateways for SMS and MMS use the MMS one with the ISY). If you have another carrier I can't speak to the reliability. If you have Polisy or the networking module I would recommend using Pushover instead. There are two nodeservers to pick from, or if you don't have Polyglot, you can simply create network resources per the wiki. I would recommend using 2500 or 3000 as the timeout tho.
