to_lighter Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 Hi there ISY 994i PRO. Firmware 4.8.0 I was having problems communicating with my Insteon devices. Ultimately, this forum suggested that there were likely to be problems with my PLM. I have ordered a new one which is back ordered. In the meantime, my supplier gave me a loaner. A couple of questions. First, when using the Tools ... Diagnostics ... PLM info, the ISY lists the PLM as connected, however, it is not. The cable coming from the ISY is not plugged into anything and the original PLM has been returned to the store. Should I be worried about this? Second, what would be the procedure for using this loaner PLM? Is there a reset function for a PLM? And then would I use the Restore PLM function? Cheers!

The information on how to replace the plm is in the wiki https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY-99i/ISY-26_INSTEON:File_Menu#Replace_Modem_.28PLM.29
Brian H Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 If you just disconnected the old PLM and did not reboot the ISY994i. It will think the old one is still there. As the PLM is detected when the ISY994i is powered up. 2
