BamBamF16
Is this being coded in a cross platform language such as reactJS or flutter? I hope so. Link to comment

BamBamF16
Hmm. Seems like a lot of extra and somewhat unnecessary effort. Flutter would produce android, ios, and web at the same time. Link to comment
Javi
Hi @bambamf16, It does involve extra work, however database queries are much faster with a native implementation. The app supports any number of ISY simultaneously and we would like to keep speeds as fast as possible. 4 Link to comment
BamBamF16
Hmm. It was my understanding flutter compiles to a native code app. Link to comment
i814u2
My understanding, of things like Flutter, is that it makes a native app, but that portion is really just a wrapper for a web app. I'm sure that's a bit over-simplified, and perhaps something has changed since I last read about it, but that's how I understood things. As far as iOS and Android topics, will there be separate forum sections, or just one for UD Mobile and it's a good idea to add some tags to threads? Also, if you need someone to beta test for iOS, I'm interested. I'm not sure if I have all the requirements met (looks like maybe it needs ISY Portal, which would be a bummer), but I'm willing to put in some effort, if that's helpful. Link to comment
Javi
Hi @i814u2, We will be looking for iOS testers soon. Both apps do local and remote connections. Remote connections will require ISY Portal or a valid CERT. While it is possible to get around the CERT there is no guarantee it will work in the future. Link to comment
i814u2
That sounds great, thanks. I look forward to checking it out. 1 Link to comment
auger66
I would just like to say thank you for this. I put it on my Pixel 4. I haven't customized it yet; but it works, including the RPi. ? I support five ISYs for people that all have iPhones. I look forward to the iOS version for them. Thanks again . . . 2 Link to comment
HABit
I saw the video UD sent out, and was impressed by the crispness of the operations demonstrated in the video, (no doubt attributable to utilizing native coding). Unfortunately, not a Droid owner, but looking forward to IOS. Would be happy to help test. Congrats on this development. Having written console apps for the ISY I understand what a PITA grappling with NS underlying functionality can be. Really good move by UD recruiting you to develop. 3 Link to comment
auger66
I loaded the other five ISYs with only the Portal connections (no local) tonight. I can't believe how fast the app Portal interface is. Well done. One small suggestion . . . Consider making the favorites tab specific to the ISY you selected. I can see arguments either way. I'm all in Android, but the iOS app can't come soon enough for my users. So how's that going? Thanks again. Edited February 28, 2021 by auger66 Link to comment
Javi
Hi @auger66, Thank you. A there is no option for a selected ISY, they are all combined into a single interface. That said you can achieve something similar by adding a favorites folder. iOS is in testing, but we do not have a release timeline. Link to comment
