Used ISY to replace swtich and iLinc still has old address

I replaced a faulty insteon switch and used the replace command on ISY to program the new one in its place. My iLinc still lists the old addres and gives an error that "ISY failed to process the request". How do i get ilinc to work with the new info?

Did you go into settings in iLinc and resync with the ISY?

Well I should have figured that out. I was under the impression the unit synced each time you started the software but I guess it just syncs the status of the devices not the list of devices.

Hi apostolakisl,

Ryarber is correct, if you add or delete an Insteon device you will need to go into My Settings and tap Sync to sync iLinc back to the current ISY configuration. iLinc could download this list everytime it starts, however, items like favorite scenes, devices, and custom command names would be lost each time. It also makes iLinc startup much slower then what a reasonable person would find acceptable.

There is one exception. IF iLinc is running and your iPhone or iPod Touch device isn't asleep, if you add or delete a device from the ISY GUI, ISY sends a real-time subscription notice to iLinc notifying it that the configuration has changed and to refresh its device list. iLinc will then perform the refresh for you automaticially. If your iPhone or iPod Touch isn't running iLinc at the time (or is asleep), iLinc won't receive this message and you will need to sync iLinc with ISY manually by going into My Settings and tapping Sync.
