bikerbobhain Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 The program is working well. It is very quick to respond. Good work BUT.... I have an observation/request ... Please note that many home automation users have a lot of devices and often employ Alexa (Amazon) to control parts of the installation. Button controllers are out of the question and tablet based systems are cumbersome and slow. If you setup a program in the Alexa environment "Alexa ON" runs the THEN part of a program and "Alexa OFF" runs the ELSE part. The icon you use for a program looks much like the icon for a switch. It would be nice if there were a way to mimic the Alexa ON/OFF protocol. Turing a program icon on would run the THEN part of an associated program and turning the icon off would run the else part. This provides a program entry point that integrates the ISY/Alexa environments. Thanks bob
Javi Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 Hi @bikerbobhain, The icon-toggle functions similar to a button on a keypad link. Currently the home/favorite list icon-toggle needs a status (on/off, running/stopped) to execute a command. There is no way for the app to know which command you would like to toggle if the command is not based on a status. In my opinion we should keep programs and nodes appearing similar. This will avoid confusion and keep the home/favorite lists clean without too many buttons/switches/toggles. I understand this will not accommodate all situations, however many programs can be slightly changed to make it work by adjusting the IF statement. At some point we will also add the ability to name the commands, so when viewing the node/program dashboard a user could change the run-then/else to display on/off. The exception to this is network resources which has a static radio button, which executes a single command, as network resources have no status. On our to-do list we have a feature to allow a single, non-status related, command for all nodes. This would be similar to the network resources static radio button and allow the user to select a single command to execute when pressed (i.e run-if, run-then, run-else, stop). Even when this feature is ready you would need 2 favorites (run-then and run-else) to accomplish the same. 1
