Mini remote triggers scenes correctly but Alexa doesn't

The echo units recognize the scenes and turn them on except for the hallway.

When i tell her to turn on the hallway separately she does.

I've programmed the scenes into a mini remote and they trigger fine.

I did recently replace the hallway device (KPL) with a newer one as I had issues with the old version responding.

I deleted toehold one and replaced it with the new one in the Portal and in the online Alexa Smarthome browser.

Clearly I've missed something but I know not what.

After you made changes in the portal, did you say "Alexa, discover devices"?

Also she doesn't always deal with things that have duplicate names correctly.  If you have duplicate names then delete both, and tell her to discover devices again.

Also I find it easier to find duplicates by using a full web browser via laptop and logging into https://alexa.amazon.com

if none of those help I'm out of suggestions.

I have made Alexa aware of the changes.
I’ve also removed the scenes from the portal and Alexa, then re added them.
still no luck

The odd thing is I have 5 scenes and one works where the rest don’t light up the one device.

any help would be great.

that sounds more like a scene issue than an Alexa issue.  Alexa uses the root scene configuration.  what happens if you try to turn the scene on using the on button at the bottom of the admin console?
