Mobile device web interface group status

I would like to request being able to designate the status of a device to represent the status of a group. When using the web interface on my mobile device I can see groups and can see individual devices. The individual devices show their status but the groups don't. You don't want to turn and individual device on or off because you would not update the other devices/buttons in that devices group. So if you want everything in sync you have to see the status of a device then go to the groups list and find the group that device is on and control the group. It would be better to see the status in the group and turn it on/off as a group. But I understand it may be confusing what the status of the group is. So it would be best to be able to designate a device as representing the status of a group. So let say I have a mulitway group called hallway. I would designate the load device as the designated group status representative and could see if the hallway light is on or off. If I then turn the group on or off all devices in the multiway will respond and be in sync.

Hi dss,

Are you talking about the HTML interface ONLY?

With kind regards,

Yes, I guess that is what I'm accessing. I'm using the Motorolla Droid and that is the page that comes up when I go to the ISY's IP address. Any plans on an Android interface? That's something I would also like to see.

Hi dss,

Yes I understand. Unfortunately the HTML page was created only for simple devices and not more capable devices such as droid. We would love to develop an application for droid however we do not the resources as of yet. If you know anyone who is an expert in developing applications for Android, please do have them contact us as soon as possible.

Can the HTML page be made so that you can select a device to represent the status of a group? Most of my groups consist of one load device and severaly multi-way devices consisting of buttons on KPL or switches on non-load Switchlinks. You want to control by the group rather than the single load device so all the statuses of the multiways stay synced. But looking at the groups on the current HTML page you can't tell the status of the light so can't know which ones need to be turned off unless you go to the device page to look at the status and then back to the group page to turn it off.

Hi dss,

I totally understand your point. In software design, anything is possible. My only hesitation is that we would like to sunset the HTML interface altogether and moving towards a more flexible solution. Let me see what we can come up with. I am going to add this as a requirement in our database with a medium priority.
