"bad request" adding new account to portal

Recommended Posts

I am trying to add another account.  It shows up as an account requesting to be added.  I click on "accept" and get the response "bad request".  I tried restarting the admin console to no avail.

add another account

Do you mean you deleted your existing portal account and are attempting to add a different account?  Or does "another" mean you are trying to connect two portal accounts to the same ISY?    If the latter, I don't think it's possible, I'm pretty sure the ISY will only connect to one portal account at a time whether ISY portal or mobilinc connect you only get a single choice.

I already have 5 accounts connected.  Adding a 6th.  As far as I know you can connect as many as you want.  As you can see, it has accepted the request and is asking for me to approve it.

Interesting.  I learned something that I don't think is well documented, I actually looked before I typed.....

ISY has a limit of 5 accounts it can be tied to.

That info should be added to the wiki as well as the portal page of isy.  Also blocked from asking you to accept the request but rather saying the limit has been reached.

@bmercier  How do I get the request to go away?  The person deleted his account and I added him as a sub account to another user.  But the request is still there.

How did he delete his account? Or did he remove his user profile?

What he has/had to do is remove the ISY from his account. The account is most likely still there, and if he deleted his user profile, does he have another one to access the account?

If this does not resolve the issue, please have a ticket opened with the uuid and some indication of the account to be removed. This could be the account name, or perhaps the ISY alias used in that account.

I don't really know what he did, but whatever he did, it allowed me to use the same email address as a sub account.  It would seem that this would only be allowed if the primary account he originally created no longer existed.  I base this off the fact than when I tried to add him as a sub account originally, it said the email address was already in use.  After he did whatever he did, it let me register the email address as a sub to another account.  He also tells me that he can no longer log into the original account.

An email address must be unique.

So he must have had removed that email address from his account, so you could use it elsewhere. His account still exists, and still have that ISY in it.
