I have an I/O link model 2450 connected to a Dakota alert 3000 that is connected to a driveway sensor. Recently noticed that I was no longer receiving alerts. In the ISY interface it's showing as not communicating. On the 2450 itself the white LED on the side is on and the green LED on the bottom is not. If I push the set button on the side I get a notification so it appears the 2450 is working, partially anyway. I believe the green LED on the bottom should be green? What could be the issue.

Could be anything. If its not a noise issue, providing detailed information on your setup such as firmware/UI, your programs for notifications, what you're using to send the notifications, etc. would help narrow things down.

I'm using Homeseer to send notification but that is not the route of the problem for sure. Like I mentioned pushing the button on the I/O send the notification so that should eliminate HomeSeer. Here's a screenshot of device and firmaware. Yes that's and old model :). Everything else works great. Have to other 2450 and they work great.

Firmware and UI needs to match and yours does not! Your firmware needs to be updated. Unfortunately for you, you're using the 99i which is obsolete and hasnt received a firmware update in over 6 years so you wouldnt be able to do that.  You would need to upgrade to the 994 and upgrade to 4.9 at a minimum. Since you are using a different system other than ISY I cant say if they have any other requirements that you would need.

The ISY99 has been discontinued and the firmware is no longer updated or supported for that ISY model. Additionally, the ISY firmware and UI must be the same version for it to work correctly.

UDI may still  have an discounted upgrade program. You should really upgrade to the ISY994i and use its current firmware release. If your PLM is more than several years old you should look into upgrading that to the current version which has an increased link capacity, improved RS232 hardware and improved firmware.

The above should improve the overall reliability of your Insteon system.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have noticed some lights not triggering every time recently. I guess after probably 15 years it's time for an upgrade. It did serve me well for as long as it lasted. The most reliable device in my system for sure and the oldest.

The 2450 is a power line only Insteon Module.

It is very possible over the years of updated electronic devices. The power line communications have been effected.

New ISY and new PLM and it still doesn't work. Does this mean the I/O link is dead? It's weir that the ISY doesn't see it but if I push the button on the side it sends notification true HomeSeer.

Did you bring it close to the PLM and/or nearby dual band device?

The ISY, PLM and the I/O link are all installed within inches of each other. And there's another insteon switch 2 feet away
