fasttimes Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 Does anyone know if there is a protocol defined limit to the number of devices in a group? I hear it’s 5, but I haven’t found any documentation on this.

fasttimes Posted June 22, 2021 Author Posted June 22, 2021 As an Insteon user, this limit sounds really low. It sounds odd you can’t group more than 5 switches together. Do you know if you can “chain” devices? If you have two groups: ABCX XYZ And you press Z, will that fire off ABC?

It is low and not odds. There's pros and cons to both protocols. This is one of zwave's cons and one of the many reasons why I wouldn't use zwave for lighting Edited June 22, 2021 by lilyoyo1
