jons7391
I was trying to set up the configuration for the V2 occupancy node server and get to the point of getting the 6 digit pin code. But when I go to download the UD mobile app it looks like it’s been updated and there is no option to enter the 6 digit code. Can anyone point me in the right direction or have updated instructions? Many thanks Link to comment

Did you have the UD mobile app downloaded and set up before generating the 6-digit code? The way you're wording it sounds like you hit the "generate" button then downloaded and installed the app. I think you may need to have the app working before you "generate". Also, I'll tag @Javi also since this really falls directly into his lap.... Link to comment

Many thanks The instructions you have followed only pertain to Android. There are 2 apps in the Android app Store UD Mobile (Built by UD) and UDI Mobile (Built by a 3rd party developer). UDI Mobile is the app which works with the V2 occupancy node server. Results may vary with occupancy and UDI Mobile as it has not been updated in many years. Using Tasker is probably a better option on Android. If this is on iOS I think most users are using Locative (some can correct me here if that is wrong). We have geofencing on our list, however it may be a seperate app due to the extensive permissions needed. IMHO we should not burden most users of UD Mobile with these permissions or power consumption related to this type of tracking. Link to comment

I'm very happy with Locative on iOS.... Locative not battery hungry at all. It takes about 20 seconds to realize I've left the geo fence, and generally finds we've entered it just as we hit the driveway. Sadly they discontinued Locative for android, it's iOS only. You must use the other version of the Occupancy node server. (Also note: I've sent a correction to UDI many moons ago but ignore this line of the wiki page "Note: if the user plans on only having one location for geofences you may skip this step. Locations may be added later, and devices may be assigned or reassigned to locations anytime." it is worded incorrectly. Don't skip that step unless only one person will be using the geofence, the folder created is for grouping people at a location not grouping locations.) Link to comment
jons7391
I am using iOS and the app is called “UD Mobile” by Universal Devices ISY. The first time I download and open it it asks me to connect to the ISY Portal and I don’t see any options anywhere about entering a 6 digit pin. Am I missing something else @Javi ? Link to comment
jons7391
Ah actually just missed where you said directions are only for android. So this only works on iOS with the app locative? Is that the official view of Universal Devices? Just want to make sure I’m using the right app. Link to comment
