Posted November 15, 20213 yr Hi all, another question: Now that I've been able to get both homes up and running with an ISY994i in each, thanks to all of your help, is there a way to use or program the ISY Finder to see both ISY994i's? It would be great to be able to make changes to the programming remotely. Below is the ISY994i from my primary home but it doesn't list my second home. Is that even possible? Must you be on the specific network to be able to gain access to the Admin Console? Thanks again, Adam
November 15, 20213 yr Since you have portal it's easy: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY_Portal_Admin_Console Essentially press the Add button here, and paste in the portal admin Console URL Important: when you use the remote link that goes thru the portal when the admin console opens you will see the usual Username and Password prompt.... Don't use your Simple local credentials, instead type your portal username and portal password.
November 15, 20213 yr Author Hey MrBill, hmmm, I thought I did that, let me check and see when I get back to my desk. Thank you!

Your finder window doesn't show multiple ISY's Here is the same ISY with a local network address and a Portal Address: Assusming you're using a laptop that you carry, you should ultimately end up with two manually added "https://my.isy.io/isy/..." rows. The row automatically found on the local network will change depending which network you're currently connected to.
November 15, 20213 yr @adambuild You might have done it in the past, but sometimes finder doesn't always find remote ISY. I have this issue a lot when trying to use admin console from a remote location that I have to manually add the location back in. Sometimes it's easy if using DDNS so you have a simple URL to add rather than knowing the IP address. Many routers now include DDNS setup, but if not check out https://www.noip.com/ (others might suggest different ones to try out - just know many are free, but might have a requirement to update every 30 days or so).
November 15, 20213 yr @Geddy are you suggesting to use DDNS with the portal? Or opening a port? as far a DDNS providers the only one I recommend anymore is https://www.duckdns.org/ it's free (and free of strings and ads), but supported by contributions, if using it be sure to contribute occasionally...
November 15, 20213 yr @MrBill oh...opening a port. while not always "safe" it's usually easier (for me, IMO) than always having to know the huge portal URL. I've never really tried to figure out why sometimes my work computer will save or not save the remote access URL, but know 80% of the time I have to add back the remote access URL. Good suggestion of the duckdns option. I knew you'd have a different/better option to use.

The only two secure methods are, A) use the portal URL or B ) Use a VPN.

November 16, 20213 yr Author Ah MrBill, you know me all too well..... It worked! If only I could learn to read..... Thank you
November 16, 20213 yr -10108 isn't listed on the list of error codes, Judging by the error above it it looks like a secure socket layer/authentification problem. What else is in the error log at that time? If you can't log in with the admin console to get the error log the error log is also available in the portal. You might want to open a ticket support@universal-devices.com since -10108 isn't a listed error. Be sure to include the ISY firmware version and that you're logging into the ISY remotely via the portal.
